A Brief History

The Early Years

Camsley Grange Riding for the Disabled Group has a long and proud history. The Group was established in 1979 at Camsley Grange Farm in Lymm.  Owning its own ponies enabled the Group to provide daytime rides for special schools and colleges, as well as evening rides for adults, and children with special needs attending mainstream schools.  As a registered charity the Group enjoyed substantial local support over the years.

Recent History

July 2006 saw the end of an era, when CGRDA held its last ride at the farm it had called home for the past 27 years. Finding a new base proved to be a long, and far from easy task, with the Group unable to actively ride for 18 months.

The Group was eventually offered the opportunity to restart riding at Milverton Farm, Rixton in March 2008, and worked hard to re-build a volunteer base, and to acquire new ponies. CGRDA continued to be based at Milverton Farm until April 2015.

In May 2015, the Group had to temporarily relocate back to the Lymm area, based at Lymm Riding School, before moving to our current location near Glazebrook in February 2016.
